Daily Email - Tuesday - 5/26/2026

One of my friends (and our most loyal subscribers) Disco Shrine texted me while I was melting my face off at Lightning in a Bottle this past weekend that she’s obsessed with the lore of the DoStuff guest appearances while I’m out of office and thinks we need our own reality TV show. If any producers are reading this, let’s chat.

We managed to post a couple of highlights from LIB to our Instagram (Mochakk, Barry Can’t Swim, & Mau P + more in Stories), but I’ll share a full Vibe Check recap later this week once my body recovers from 5 days of camping in Bakersfield.

To add insult to injury, I dropped a 30-pound umbrella stand on my toe yesterday while unpacking our car. All aboard the Hot Mess Expressica. Huge thanks to Faye for holding down the fort while I was out dancing with my inner child!

Now a quick word from our sponsors (my last two brain cells)...

Ben Gibbard and crew booked two nights at The Greek this August with support from Nation of Language. Wanna sing your heart out with Death Cab for Cutie? We’re giving away a pair of tickets for each night!*

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • Elmiene’s voice was scientifically engineered for late-night drives down Wilshire. His Sounds For Someone Tour hits The Wiltern next Tuesday, 6/2, and it’s not too late to lock in early bird tickets!*

  • Messy, loud, and somehow cooler than they were in the 90s, Toadies are coming to The Belasco on Saturday, 6/13 for The Charmer Tour and honestly “Possum Kingdom” has never sounded better. Win tickets and go get weird.*

  • Somewhere between a rave and an emotionally devastating indie film soundtrack sits an Emmit Fenn DJ set. Drop $25 to hear him spin at Sound Nightclub on Thursday, 7/9 then let the feelings take control.

  • Hatebreed didn’t spend 30 years instigating motivational violence for you to stand still in the back with your arms crossed. Their SUMMER SLAUGHTER TOUR hits House of Blues Anaheim on Sunday, 8/23. Stretch beforehand.

  • Plus fresh announcements from Ferry Corsten ($20 TIX!), Alter Bridge, Nothing But Thieves, and more!

WEEKLY STAFF PICKS

Another Tuesday, another fresh batch of music! Once again, here’s what’s been in our headphones this week, plus a few of our team’s top concert recommendations.

If you have a favorite artist or band that you can’t stop listening to (especially if they’re locally based in Southern California), please share them with us! We’re all ears!

DRUNK THEATRE COMPANY PRESENTS:

COMEDY, BUT MAKE IT BOOZEY

Looking for something hilarious to do this Friday? Drunk Theatre is a weekly unpredictable improv show at the Santa Monica Playhouse where a comedian takes five shots back-to-back and tries to stand upright while five other stone-cold sober comedians work their magic. Don’t let them ruin their livers in vain!*
